Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow Review

Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow Review

The Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow is a high-end hunting crossbow delivers killing power and fantastic speed. Also the design of predator is unique on the market. If you want to try something that looks unusual, you can try this one. We don’t recommend those who begin to hunt to buy this crossbow for hunting unless you have a few days of practice. Since this weapon is so powerful more than you can imagine. It’s more powerful than killing every animal you can find on the planet. Thus if you are a beginner, it’s somewhat dangerous with this crossbow. Anyway, if you want to try something new and powerful, this one is a delicious choice.

Assembly of Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow

Assemble a compound crossbow is harder than other crossbows and will take more times to put all things together. But thanks to the unique design of the Barnett Predator 375, I found the process is pretty simple. If you don’t know who to start your assembly, read the instruction that offered by Barnett, you will find it in your package. The booklet of installation is very very detailed that you can figure out how to assemble the Barnett Predator 375 in minutes even if you have never assemble a crossbow before. It will take you about 20 minutes to assemble it if you are a newbie. I spent 15 minutes to do it.

Prepare To Shoot

At 9 pounds, the Predator 375 CRT is a bit heavy. But heavy makes shoot sturdy and reduce recoil when shooting, it’s helpful for accuracy. If you are used to lightweight crossbow like some crossbow pistol, like Avalanche Black 120 lb Crossbow, it might take you a few days to get the hang of this one. My last hunting crossbow is the Barnett Ghost 350 CRT crossbow, which weighting at 8.1 pounds, and this crossbow is not too much heavier than the Ghost 350 CRT, so I got used to this one quickly.

Remember to use the lube wax that comes with the package. Barnett claims to wax your string every 5 – 10 shoot for reducing damage to your string and limbs. But when waxing the string, you have to watch out not to use to much wax in order to reduce the accuracy of your crossbow.

The Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow has a draw weight of 175 lbs and a shooting velocity of 365 FPS(nearly as 375 with the provided arrows). Cocking the bow is very hard for most of people. Especially for female hunters. The cocking device will reduce 50% of power that need to cock the bow. So we recommend you to use the device no matter how strong you are.

The Barnett Predator 375 CRT features automatically safety. When you cock the bow, the safety will engages itself and avoid dry fire. So before you fire your crossbow, you have to turn the safety off by yourself. The warranty will be avoid if you ever dry-fire this crossbow.

Shooting with Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow

Shooting & Hunting with Barnett Predator 375 CRT

You can see how powerful this monster is. I don’t use my home made target for this crossbow because I afraid this crossbow will break my target into pieces. Never shoot your target less than 20 yards, because that will break your target soon.

On my first shooting, I made a mistake by shooting my wooden target at 15 yards and the arrow dug into my target so deep that there is only half of the arrow still at the outside of the target. I have no choice but use all my weight to pull the arrow out from my target.

The scope provided by Barnett deserves a special mention here; it’s really well made that I think even beginners can shot a 1″ groupings at a distance of 30 yards. But for hunting, you have to practice more before you are confident enough for hit your game’s heart or lungs at more than 50 yards away. You can’t get too close to your games to prevent noticing of them.

You can hunt for everything you want. You can take down deer, elk, buffalo, bear, and even elephants if they are legal in your country. Thanks to the AVI technology, the Barnett Predator 375 CRT is about half quiet compare to other compound crossbow on the market. I dare to say that it’s that most quiet crossbow I have ever shoot.

With this fast and powerful weapon, you can take down everything in your eyesight on North America. I once took down two elks and one doe with this crossbow from an amazing 60+ yards with a full pass through. The arrows were so fast that it hit my game before they noticed. They all ran less than 70 yards.

Barnett Predator 375 CRT Crossbow Review – Summary

Although this is a compound crossbow, but it’s really quiet and reduce recoil well. This crossbow is designed for experience crossbowmen or those who want to enjoy powerful weapons in hunting. If you want to have a killing power weapon, this one is really great. Fly-speed make your shooting more effective and be able to take down your games from more than 50 yards away.
